Colabs Coworking Space – NU Sentral, Kuala Lumpur

Ground Up Sdn Bhd was engaged to deliver the complete design and build for Colabs’ newest 17,000 sqft coworking hub, strategically located within NU Sentral in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The project was conceived to reflect Colabs’ dynamic brand identity, while also providing a versatile and inspiring environment for a diverse community of entrepreneurs, freelancers, and corporate teams.

Our design approach focused on translating Colabs’ brand DNA into physical space — merging warm, inviting tones with contemporary architectural lines and premium finishes. Branded colour accents were integrated throughout to subtly reinforce visual identity without overwhelming the open, airy feel of the interiors.

The space features an intuitive spatial layout, seamlessly balancing open collaborative areas, hot desk zones, and lounge seating with fully enclosed private offices and sound-insulated meeting rooms. We placed strong emphasis on natural light penetration, with glass partitions used to maintain transparency while ensuring acoustic privacy where needed.

Common areas were designed as social anchors for the community — including a vibrant café-style pantry, breakout lounges, and event zones equipped with flexible furniture for multiple configurations. Lighting design plays a key role, combining functional task lighting with feature pendants and ambient layers to create a comfortable, energising work atmosphere.

From concept to completion, every detail — from custom-built joinery and ergonomic furniture selection to integrated branding elements — was curated to create a space that embodies Colabs’ mission: fostering connection, productivity, and creativity in a premium coworking environment.
